No Smoking for me.

I just stopped smoking about 3 and 1/2 weeks ago. I had caught pnuemonia and it is really hard to smoke when you can barely breathe at all. Not to mention the doc told me that I really should quit, and I would be much healthier and better shape now and in the long run.

So, after not being able to smoke at all for a week, cause I could barely breathe, I just gave up. That week, and the followin week was the worst times ever cause of the addiction need I had. It was like I was going through withdraws, and needed something to get my fix. It was bad, and I was hateful, to like everyone.

So yesterday I found out how much it has helped me already. I was at my in-laws house to celebrate by Father-in-law's B-Day, 50 years old, and I was outside playing Basketball with my kids for a long time. I would bet close to 2 hours. And then went to my wife's aunt's house to get her lawnmower started. It liked to have killed me. Then when we got home I edged the walkway, and am putting gravel down instead of these little pad looking concrete things. I was active all day long, and was not short of breath, or completely beat. I was still pretty active on through the night. And was even playing on the PC before I went to bed.

I can tell a major difference in my activness once I stopped smoking.

Now, a lot of people have a crutch, helping them quit. A lot of people use the patch, or some pills, or the gum. Others are not as bad, and just use chewing gum or other items to quit. I am only using Gobstoppers and Jolly Ranchers to quit. Mainly Jolly Ranchers cause I can get a 5lbs bag at Sams for $6.00 or something. And actually my mom is the one getting them for me. So, now when I have a craving, I just pop in a candy and I am good to go.

I think that is one of the best things I have done this year so far. I am mor happy, and willing to play more with the kids, and not get winded walking around the house. I feel a lot better about my health, and I think I will just get better and better as the year goes.

NO SMOKING FOR ME!
